SUTURE
CHEMLAB
INVISIBLE
Rating of 7

As any industrial music fan should know CHEMLAB imploded years ago under the weight of co-founder Jared Louche’s drug abuse. This was a crashing disappointment because the last album EAST SIDE MILITIA was a qualified classic of the genre and should have re-invigorated the scene.

SUTURE is a collection of re-mixes, outtakes and a reissued material (the long out of print EP TEN TON PRESSURE that was already reissued as MAGNETIC FIELD REMIXES). In fact much of the running time of this disc is simply a reissue of THE MAGNETIC FIELD REMIXES. The fact that both the other pressings of this early material are long out of print so this represents the first time this material has been available in many years. Also included are some great re-mixes and reworking of material from EAST SIDE MILITIA, so this is a must have disc for any CHEMLAB fan.

While no where near as alarmingly great as EAST SIDE MILITIA, SUTURE still shows the direction that CHEMLAB was heading, reminding us of what an essential band they could have been. Thankfully Louche has kicked his horse problem and is back in the business making music with H3LLB3NT. SUTURE is a nice place to start for new fans and a solid finish for us die-hard CHEMHEADS. (AC)
